Q&A

  • How are Greenhouse Gasses affecting the environment ?
Greenhouse Gasses are affecting the environment by making changes to the mixture of the greenhouse gasses, due to the humans. Like burning fossil fuels created by humans. These humans experiments or discoveries can cause major risks of causing global warming.
  • What causes ocean acidification?
Ocean acidification is caused by the absorbtion of carbon dioxide into the seawater, that was previously released into the air
  • Does Acid Rain affect people?
Oh yes it definatly affects us! Why? Acid Rain contains sulfur dioxide which would be released into the air and could cause many harm lung diseases.
  • What animals in the sea specifically are impacted by ocean acidification?
Oysters Clams Sea urchins Shallow and deep sea water corals Calcareous plankton Pteropods Pollock Larval clownfish Are some of the basic creatures that are directly impacted by ocean acidification
  • How does the rise in acidity level in the ocean impact ocean life?
The increase in pH makes the ocean more acidic and this causes a larger concentration of hydrogen ions to enter the ocean. The increase in acid also decreases the number of carbonate ions that are in the ocean, and these ions are the ones that are used in building seashells and coral skeleton structures. This can harm many animals especially animals such as oysters and clams whose overall funtion depends on these structural ions.
  • What are Greenhouse Gasses?
Greenhouse Gasses are gasses that absorb radiation produced by the sun, which is then projected onto the earth's surface.
  • Should we use fossil fuels to help reduce acid rain?
No! You shouldn't use fossil fuels to help reduce acid rain. Fossil Fuels like coal are naturally formed by living organisms but help produce lots of pollution which causes acid rain. We should instead use solar power and wind power because they generate less polution in the air which reduces the chances of acid rain occuring.
  • What is Acid Rain?
Acid Rain is any form of precipitation that is acidic or has elevated levels of hydrogen ions.
  • How can Greenhouse Gasses affect human health bassed on the environment ?
We depend on trees for air , if the trees are being affected by this then this can lead them to human health problems.Trees are taking lots of carbon dioxide from the air, which means thereare going to be fewer trees and a larger amount of the greenhouse gasses in the air.If this cycle continues warmer temperatures atmosphereic have occured. This can cause global warming and can lead to heavy rainfalls. People lives are affected by this and need to improve this.Human need oxygen to breathe and if there are fewer trees than humans can't get the air they need to breathe.
